We’re collecting personal hygiene items to brighten the holidays for our seniors and remind them they’re cared for and loved. 💕

Celebrating International Men’s Day

We may be a few days behind, but we couldn’t miss the chance to recognize International Men’s Day (observed on November 19th). Due to unforeseen circumstances, we weren’t able to share this on the day, but it’s never too late to celebrate or reflect on this important occasion.

What is International Men’s Day?
International Men’s Day is a global celebration that highlights the positive contributions men make to their families, communities, and the world. It’s also an opportunity to promote men’s health and well-being, advocate for gender equality, and raise awareness about the challenges men face.

This year’s theme is: “Positive Role Models.” Let’s celebrate and encourage men to be mentors, leaders, and sources of inspiration in their communities.

We also encourage men to prioritize their mental and physical well-being with these self-care tips:
Get Active: Go for a run or workout regularly.
Relax: Treat yourself to a massage every once in a while.
Enjoy Nature: Spend more time outside appreciating the beauty around you.
Mindful Practices: Try yoga or meditation in the morning.
Take a Break: Plan a vacation for yourself.
Rest Well: Make sure to get enough sleep each night.
Unwind: Read a new book for pleasure.

This year, the Ladies and Top Teens have fully embraced the holiday spirit of giving by decorating Christmas trees for Kennedy Krieger Institute's Festival of Trees! 🎄 Each tree tells a story: “Hope Blooms in Every Cell"— supporting our TLOD program of raising awareness for Sickle Cell Disease—and “Passport to Joy: Wonders of the World" 🌎✨.

Every minute, 20 people are abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. Domestic violence affects millions, regardless of age, gender, or background. It’s time to stand together, raise awareness, and support those affected.

📌 Did you know?

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience severe physical violence from a partner.
Only 34% of people injured by a partner receive medical care.
Kids who witness domestic violence are more likely to face health problems as adults.
Help is available. If you or someone you know is in need of support, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-SAFE. 🤝

Together, we can break the silence, offer support, and work towards a world free from domestic violence.
